Tristan Rais-Sherman, a rising orchestra conductor and Conducting Fellow at the Philadelphia Orchestra, has been selected as a finalist for the 2023 Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg, Germany with the Bamberg Symphony. Tristan was also the recipient of the Solti Foundation US Award, which recognizes young American conductors with exceptional talent and promise.

The Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition, which launched the careers of renowned conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel and Lahav Shani, is one of the most prestigious international competitions for young conductors. Tristan's selection as a finalist is a testament to their exceptional talent and promise in the field of orchestral conducting.
